Today I attended the Artist Talk of Megan Phelon. She is a printmaker and an artist for books, especially for the illustration-only kind. Her prints are inspired by her trips around the world and the United States. She'd take photos and manipulate them making them look almost abstract.
In one of her pieces, the "exquisite pig", she explains how it's her own version of the Exquisite Horse. The Exquisite Horse is a challenge for artists who are given either the front or rear end of the horse. They would then have to draw the missing part of the horse in any way of their choice. However, Phelon said she disliked the horse and instead went with a pig, based off the name of her press called the Irish Pig Press.
